Vienna, May 4, 2007

 

  Although the official opening of SAMPLING BUCHAREST takes place on Saturday, the 5th of May of 2007, starting from today, some of our shows are already present in Vienna: on Karntnerstrasse, in Prater Park and in Karlsplatz one can find artist Ionel Stoicescu’s installation, Shepherd Bucur and his Sheep,  an allegory of the birth of Bucharest city.

In the same locations, the inhabitants of Vienna can watch classical music mini-concerts, entitled The Castle Music, offered by the students of the George Enescu High-school (the “Passion”, “Gli Amici” and “Musique quartets), the Tandarica Theatre – with the play for children called The Goat and Its Three Kids, the Happenings of Masca Theatre and the Statues of Metropolis Theatre.

Sampling Bucharest, Paul Chiributa’s installation shaped as a book, with pictures from Bucharest, will be set up today in Prater Park and Ion Nemtoi has his exhibition at Museums Quartier.

At 18:30, at Palffy Palace, there take place the inauguration of Francisc Vaida’s photo exhibition, called Bucharest, A Tourist’s Destination and the inauguration of the painting and graphic exhibition, Made in RO-EU, with two sections – one offered by the students from “N. Tonitza” Plastic Arts High-school and the other by the students of the National University of Arts from Bucharest.

At 20:15, Luni Theatre performs Sunshine Play, hosted by Pygmalion Theatre

In the evening, at Fluc Club there take place the fist underground graffiti , film and photo exhibitions.
